Naples Children & Education Foundation Welcomes New Trustees

The Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival, has added Lin and Herb Henkel, Cindy and Sam Scalise and Betsy Ryan and Patrick Zenner as Trustees. In this role, they will support NCEF’s vision of making a profound and sustaining difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Collier County.

“Our newest Trustees bring impressive and diverse backgrounds, which will contribute greatly to the broad range of expertise among our other Trustees,” said Valerie Boyd, NCEF Chairman of the Board. “Each of them also is a past patron of the Naples Winter Wine Festival and shares a deep and sincere commitment to supporting a wide array of charitable causes in the community.”

Lin and Herb Henkel have extensive and varied backgrounds at Fortune 500 global companies and have been patrons of the Naples Winter Wine Festival since 2018. Most recently, Herb was named Chairman of Herc Equipment Rentals. Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Ingersoll-Rand Company and served in several leadership roles at Textron, Inc. Herb earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees at the Polytechnic Institute of New York and his MBA at Pace University, where he also received an honorary Ph.D.

Lin is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lin Cummins Connections, Inc., a marketing and communications company that provides strategic direction and guidance for global business initiatives. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Communications for Meritor, Inc. Lin received her Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degrees in speech and communications from Detroit’s Wayne State University.

Cindy and Sam Scalise, who have attended the Naples Winter Wine Festival since 2019, are in the building and real estate development business. Betsy Ryan and Patrick Zenner are generous philanthropists, as shown in their enthusiasm at past Naples Winter Wine Festivals, and are committed to community service. Patrick has more than 50 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry, including 32 years at Hoffmann-La Roche Inc., North America, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 1993 until his retirement in 2001.
