Southwest Florida's Fall & Winter Social Season 2026–2027

Southwest Florida is entering one of its most anticipated times of the year. As October unfolds and the winter social season approaches, Naples, Marco Island, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs and Estero are preparing for an impressive assortment of cultural events, concerts, charity fundraisers and holiday celebrations.

The return of seasonal residents brings renewed energy to restaurants, galleries, theaters, luxury resorts and waterfront entertainment districts. From film premieres and world-class musical performances to Christmas boat parades and prestigious charitable auctions, the coming months offer residents and visitors an outstanding variety of experiences.

October 2026: Film, Music & Fall Festivities

October marks the beginning of Southwest Florida's busiest cultural season. With more comfortable evenings and the gradual return of seasonal visitors, outdoor dining, concerts and community celebrations become increasingly attractive.

One of the month's highlights is the Naples International Film Festival, scheduled for October 22–25 at Artis—Naples. Now in its 18th year, the festival brings independent filmmakers, film enthusiasts and creative professionals together for screenings, discussions, special presentations and social gatherings. The program includes an opening-night celebration and a closing-night event.

Fort Myers continues to build upon the popularity of its historic River District, where monthly Art Walk and Music Walk events attract visitors to local restaurants, galleries and entertainment venues. The October Music Walk is scheduled for October 16, with additional downtown performances and cultural events throughout the month.

In Estero, Hertz Arena welcomes the beginning of another Florida Everblades hockey season, along with nationally touring entertainers. The venue's fall calendar includes concerts, comedy and major sporting attractions.

Families looking for Halloween celebrations will also find activities throughout Lee and Collier counties. The Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium in Fort Myers is hosting its Haunted Walk during October, while Bonita Springs has scheduled a Boo-Tanical Evening for October 23.

November 2026: Concerts, Culture & the Return of Society Season

November brings a noticeable increase in entertainment and social activity as Southwest Florida's winter residents begin returning in greater numbers. The region's performing arts centers, cultural institutions and philanthropic organizations welcome audiences for another busy season.

Music lovers can look forward to a diverse entertainment calendar, including a November 11 concert by the Italian operatic pop trio Il Volo at Hertz Arena in Estero. The region's performing arts venues also continue to offer touring productions, orchestral concerts, comedy and theatrical performances.

November is especially important to Southwest Florida's charitable community. Fundraising luncheons, benefit dinners, art auctions and donor receptions help support regional hospitals, educational initiatives, cultural organizations, environmental programs and community services.

In Naples, attention begins turning toward the city's renowned winter philanthropic calendar, which culminates in major events such as the Naples Winter Wine Festival in January.

The holiday season also arrives before Thanksgiving. Naples' historic Third Street South district is scheduled to begin its holiday festivities on November 23, featuring seasonal music, shopping, entertainment and its celebrated holiday atmosphere.

Beginning November 27, the Naples Botanical Garden will once again illuminate its spectacular landscape for Night Lights in the Garden, an evening experience featuring holiday lighting, music and seasonal refreshments. The event continues into early January.

December 2026: Holiday Magic Along the Gulf Coast

Few destinations celebrate the holidays quite like Southwest Florida. Instead of snow-covered streets, residents enjoy decorated palm trees, waterfront restaurants, illuminated boats and festive evenings beneath the stars.

Naples' Fifth Avenue South will host its annual Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting celebration on December 4–5. The popular two-day event includes holiday entertainment, restaurant dining, shopping and an official tree-lighting ceremony in the heart of downtown Naples.

In Cape Coral, the annual Holiday Festival of Lights takes place on December 5. Cape Coral Parkway becomes a festive pedestrian destination, welcoming families for holiday attractions, entertainment, Santa Claus and seasonal celebrations.

Bonita Springs will also offer family-friendly holiday activities. Its scheduled Kris Kringle Village takes place December 12–13 near the historic Liles Hotel. Community concerts and seasonal entertainment are also scheduled at Riverside Park.

Southwest Florida's nautical lifestyle adds another distinctive dimension to the holidays. Decorated yachts and pleasure boats participate in illuminated parades throughout the region, including Marco Island, Naples Bay and Cape Coral. Cape Coral's Holiday Boat-a-Long is scheduled for December 19 at Four Freedoms Park.

The season is also an ideal time to experience holiday concerts, dinner shows, resort celebrations, art exhibitions and waterfront dining. For many residents, December marks the beginning of a festive social calendar that continues well into the new year.

January & February 2027: Peak Season Arrives

The beginning of 2027 brings Southwest Florida into the heart of its celebrated winter season. Cultural organizations, concert promoters, art collectors, charitable foundations and luxury hospitality venues welcome some of their largest gatherings of the year.

In Naples, the annual New Year's Art Fair takes place January 2–3 at Cambier Park, showcasing original works by artists from across the country. Additional outdoor art exhibitions follow during January and February, attracting collectors, residents and visitors who appreciate fine painting, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics and contemporary design.

One of the most prestigious events of the season is the Naples Winter Wine Festival, scheduled for January 29–31, 2027. The internationally recognized philanthropic gathering brings together renowned vintners, distinguished chefs, collectors and benefactors for exceptional dining experiences and charitable fundraising benefiting children in Collier County.

Major entertainment also continues across the region. Barry Manilow is scheduled for two performances at Hertz Arena on January 16–17, while Bonita Springs will host outdoor arts festivals at Riverside Park in January and February.

February brings another highlight for collectors and art enthusiasts: the Naples National Art Fair, scheduled for February 19–21 at Cambier Park. The juried exhibition features professional artists working in a variety of fine arts and crafts.

Throughout the winter months, visitors can also enjoy opera, theater, jazz, symphonic music, culinary experiences and outdoor community festivals.
